The Commish. Hey guys, I'm summoning the collective expertise of our active, knowledgeable sub-forum in choosing a nice place to have dinner on a first date next weekend. So what do you think? I don't have any guidelines except Less than Patsels and More than Applebees.

I'm open to any suggestion. Ideally, I'd like a place where we could talk at a slightly louder than conversational tone, but isn't so loud that I'd struggle to hear her. I'd rather the hustle and bustle of a busy restaurant to fill the inevitable conversation void than the sound of silence.

Clinking glasses; not chirping crickets! I also think the choice shouldn't be overtly romantic. Having dinner together has enough implications without adding an overtly romantic burden before we're ready for it. I only hung out with her once in a group, and this will be the first time I hung out with her alone.

So the idea is to first get to know each other comfortably, without any overt expectations of romance, and then to see what, if anything, develops. John From Scranton.

Oh My, how exciting I donno' because most of the time while in Scranton we just pop into Whistlers. We kinda' found that on our own at one point. Its relaxed, old, quaint I'm not sure but perhaps its rockin' later in the night TV's here and there Good Chicken salad. Can you tell I've dated a lot?! Another nice idea might be a Tunkhannock get-away for the evening with a movie at the old Dietrich Theater and dinner at Twig's Restaurant.

Too bad the downtown merchants are clueless and roll up the sidewalks at 5 PM or else you'd also be able to kill a lot of time browsing the stuff in the cool shops in town.

If you're looking for a good spot for the inevitable "first kiss," then Nay Aug Gorge was a good one for me, as well as staring off from a bluff overlooking the Delaware Water Gap. The Clarks Summit Festival of Ice next month would be a good bet too for something fun to do, assuming all goes well from this point onwards. Best of luck to you! If you have any "prospects" for me toss them my way as well!

Reason: Typographical Error. Mr Yuk. Rossi's in Archbald, Italian food, inexpensive, nice atmosphere. You do need reservations. Some good suggestions so far I think they've got really good food, and it's a pretty casual place, but still has some ambiance. I keep hearing about fascia luna too, maybe that would be good. Have fun!
